Medium red, pale brown edge. Oak and red currant nose is pretty. The palate is elegant with oak and raspberry. Light body with balanced tannin and surprisingly long finish. Regular readers know that I don't prefer obvious oak in my mature Burgundy but this wine really appeals to me today.

nice medium scale wine with good depth of red and cherry fruit (on night one and two, fruit faded on night three... all nights the bottle was gassed and fridged)... best on night two, but not shut down at all on night one, on night three it got a little 'unwelcoming' as the fruit faded and it was outdone easily on that night by the '98 Dominique Laurent Bonnes Mares... will enjoy my two other bottles over the next 5-7 years, good QPR at $75/btl (NB - I am a big fan of Leclerc 'Combe aux Moines')

“Pinot Noir around the world”-tasting (blind), flight 4, wine 1: We knew that only Burgundy and California were missing, which should have made things easier, yet the group was split and half of the group thought the other wine in the flight (later revealed as Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir 2010) was the wine from Burgundy. A tricky pairing as I think Faiveley uses a high proportion of new oak (normally around 2/3) and the Au bin Climats admittedly are Burgundian in style.
The wine was medium ruby in colour and offered red fruit, red cherry, raspberry and iodine aromas on the nose. On the palate the wine showed red fruit and some coffee flavours, with smooth, medium-plus acidity, medium-level tannin and very good length. This balanced, medium- to light bodied Pinot Noir had more precision and even more freshness than the Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir 2010 and I picked it as Burgundy. My favourite wine of the eleven wines tasted, and also one of the group’s favourites.

Floral aroma, very attractive. It evolves with clear cherry flavor. light bodied but with strong and long finish.
