Ah, earlier concerns apply...this is, for me, alas, a little corked. Yet again my drinking companions are far less concerned. Underneath this there is some cherry, berry and stalks with polished oak notes, a certain gamey leatheryness and damp cellar to marry to the corky elements. I can see the potential but that corky note...FLAW on this occasion.

Pinot and Pate matching (KC's place): From Coravin. Wet dog initially then new oak, sweet spice, slight THC as well on the nose. Tannins are broad and bolshy fruit is cherry sweet but that cork taint here as well. It's not fully corked yet but I think I should probably drink it up!

Estella's 50th Part two: From Coravin. Stalky, earthy, red berry and cherry, slightly dusty notes, polished oak. Acid balances fine tannins, mid palate grip, tight but enjoyable with plenty of stalks. Needs time.

Coravin fun - Burgundy practice #3 (Kennards, Waterloo): From Coravin. Stalky aromas with berries, polished oak and cream. With agitation a lovely, warm, embracing depth with puts me in mind of open fires in the winter and leather Chesterfields. Still very fruit forward and, with time, the fruit element grows on the nose. In the mouth the stalks lend an ashy that the fruit can't quite get through. it's long with fine, flour textured, slightly drying tannins. time required but has promise and the potential to be more than lovely enough for my needs.

Elegant subtle nose with some complexity, earthy notes and sweet savoury fruits. On palate it shows more herbaceous earthy notes with a structured and slight austere mouthful. Not showing much of fruits and a bit green here.
