  • Tasted at the "Huet Degustation dinner held at Wohlfahrt's "Schwarzwaldstube" in Traube Tonbach
Exquisite wine; a bit tired but very aristocratic and elegant. Long finish. Close to perfection.
While it was completely overwhelmed by the cheese course alongside of which it was served, it was outstanding when drunk by itself.
As the Italians would say: "Un vino da meditazione"
Perhaps the wine of the evening.

  • May have been a wrong bottling (from the cellars of Domaine Huet). This may have been 1946 Le Mont Demi-Sec according to Noel Pinguet. Light amber colour with golden reflexes. In the nose lots of hay, cheese rind of a Livarot, very strong yeasty notes, slightly oxidative notes, not very precise. On the palate, it's fairly flat and very adstringend. Interesting, but not elegant.
