Significantly better than the Volnay Vieilles Vignes from the same vintage. The nose is filled with fresh red fruits, currant, raspberry. The palate starts with a certain volume that nicely envelops a strong acidity, and the finish is very tangy, featuring currant and even a hint of greenness. Respectable for the vintage but lacks a bit of indulgence. Rated 89-90.

Medium translucent ruby. Nose of airy violets, alpine meadow, musky plum, earth, and a touch of mint. Layers of delectable, crunchy red berry fruit cut with iron flecks and brambles on the harmonious palate. Fine-grained tannin and young, tingly acidity. Satisfying finish of echoing deep-set dark cherry, iron granules, and light earth. Delightful young Volnay showing well at age 11.

On the palate, a bit lacking in fruit. Lots of dirt and iron.
