At first, the wine showed a nice meaty character with some red fruits. The palate was definitely very acidic, which could be good with food, but would likely never balance out with time in the cellar. I double decanted it, and three hours later the nose is total acetone. It didn't seem faulty to begin with, but after a bunch of air, it's toast. I can only hope that it's a bad bottle and that the other 2 in the cellar will be better....my first experience with this producer and I had high hopes, but this is an expensive dud...

The wine was very flat, the nose was uninspiring, and it never opened over a 3-hour period. It (about 3/4 of the bottle) ended up in a soup we made. What a fate!

Dark ruby color, somewhat cloudy. Medium intensity nose with notes of raspberry, strawberry and blackberry with hints of plum and cloves. The wine is incredibly vibrant and tart on the palate. Like a mouthful of blackberries with some cranberry, strawberry and raspberry...none if which is fully ripe. Very tart with tons of acid...almost like a sweet tart but nothing candied or fake about the fruit. Medium body with drying tannins on a lingering, mouthwatering finish.

Afternoon buzz at the ABV (ABV wine bar on lexington): Steel tank mourvedre from california - what has the world come to? Fine by me though; has some funky freshness to it, served slightly chilled on tap, the nose has dominant notes of rosemary and kirschwasser. Dry and acidity driven. Fresh and light and uncomplicated fun!

Bottle possibly spoiled: an astringent, vinegary mess.
