Nice dense red color, concentrated red fruit and cherries on the nose. Powerful, mouth-filling Pinot. Slightly tart with serious tannin, structure and some leather, maybe graphite on the back end. Drank with minimal time to open on first night (15 minutes in glass), then drank 3/4 refrigerated bottle next day to see if it had lost any power or nuance. Nope. A bit more open the second day, and fruit more apparent and less dense. Good wine. Only thing lacking would be a little more earthy funk in the profile. Could be slightly more complex.

We gave this bottle a shot on the recommendation of SYR (http://www.sanysidroranch.com/). Not disappointed. This is a classic, fruit forward SB pinot. Darkest color, slow legs. Dried cherries with vanilla undertone. Another easy Sta. Rita Hills drink that will gain some substance with age. Happy times.

At Bouchon in Santa Barbara (great spot). A wine by the glass recommendation from locals.
Medium/dark garnet color. Rich, earthy nose. Palate has red fruits, dusted cherry, currants. fruit forward style but not overly extracted. Not a lot of sophistication but a very nice wine - would be a crowd pleaser in party settings

(Babcock Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills) Dark ruby color; tart red fruit, roasted cherry, ripe red berry, cranberry nose; tasty, focused, tart raspberry, tart cherry, cranberry palate with medium acidity; could use 1-2 years bottle age; medium-plus finish (13.8% alcohol)
