PnP. Started sampling fairly quickly as we were in the middle of dinner. Initially somewhat closed on the nose and thin or linear, the wine opened up and filled in nicely with red and darker berry flavors, medium- tannin, medium acidity. Nicely balanced with and after Thanksgiving leftovers.

PnP and poured some into glasses to sit for about 15-20 minutes. Color is deep garnet with just a bit of fade at the edge to a purple-red. Initial aromas of blueberry, blackberry, darker fruit, fig, savory herb, dirt and leather. On the palate darker fruit, herbs, tobacco, some sweetness and warmth, pencil, cedar, a touch of vanilla, medium acid, medium- tannin that is soft and well-integrated leaving a mouthwatering final impression. On its own the wine is quite nice. Drinking before, with and after a dinner of shepherds' pie and a tossed salad with lemon vinaigrette and feta cheese. Quite good with the shepherds' pie and it brought out just a bit of the pepper in the shepherds' pie. After dinner the wine had filled in nicely and was delicious.

True appearance of slightly transparent garnet. Long legs garnet to miniscus. Still tight at 6 years old. Was very tannic when I tasted in 2014. Red cherry, browned butter humus on the nose. Needs time opened to air. Palate is pleasant but really dry. Has a nice red cherry persistancy. A match for ribeye.

Good. Drink now, as the acidity and tannins are starting to fade, and finish is shortening.

Juicy blackberry and tobacco intertwine in this well-balanced Bordeaux. Will buy more, especially at this price point.
