this bottle wasn't up to the past bottles, and I can't say it was because it was getting too old. I wish I had looked at my past ratings before we drank this one, so I could compare a bit saved til the next day.

Big and fruity with a touch of cigar tobacco. Balance is good and the finish is medium and fruity. color is a deep dark rose. I enjoyed this wine but two others did not care for the wine.

Dark ruby, with timid and fast legs. Black currant (cassis), blueberry, blackberry, petrol, medium toast, sandalwood, nutmeg and black pepper on the nose. Mostly blueberry and (cassis) on the mouth. Finishes short, with less structure than I expected.

Nice tasty and elegant. The front showed the grapes nicely and the middle separated the grape flavors, oak and alcohol but with harmony. the finish had smooth mature and sweet tannin that Lingered on your tongue. The first glass showed very well right out of the bottle through a simple aerator but a second glass at about three hours lost a lot of the character. Day two was the grand finale where the wine showed nice fruit and complexity and subtle finesse. It danced with some spicy Mexican Enchiladas, Glass 1 - 90 Glass 2- 88 Day 2 - 92

Not a California wine but very pleasant. If you're used to vacationing at the beach, kind of like heading to the mountains. Certainly more old world, a little dry, and muted dark fruit. But, very good. Crazy QPR.
