  • Medium garnet with a light lilac nose. Tart berry on the tongue with some woody tannins, a little residual sweetness to balance the tart red berries. A bit of strawberry, red currants and rhubarb to go with the smoky tannins and salad of forest greens.

  • Elegant in style, with excellent purity and flavor concentration. Light to medium in body with a nice core of fresh red cherry fruit, so fresh that there are some green edges, though it only adds to the appeal for me. Also shows good medium persistence on the finale. This has really improved over the last year. I'm probably going to give my last bottle some extended cellar time to see how it evolves. Another five years should be no problem.

  • same notes as before, but this time I just wasn't in the mood for drinking my pinot with a carcass of game in it.

  • This is a delicious, juicy pinot in a style i don't see from the US very much. Compulsively drinkable but not simple. Fruity but not sweet. Very fun. Comes across as fairly French.

  • always an interesting pinot. There is a prevalent animal hide funk - even smoked animal hide. This is in the nose, palate and finish. While this might seem unpleasant, it isn't - it is integrated well with reduced ripe raspberries and rhubarb pie filling. There is also a very nice tang on the finish. There was a bit of spritz on opening but that soon went away. The wine continues to evolve and can be enjoyed now with air. I can also see this wine evolve a bit more. All in all - pretty damn impressive for $24.
