  • Fruit forward and jammy Grenache. I remember enjoying more in tasting room. Alcohol overpowers wine at 15.6%. Drink now

  • Decanted 2+ hours.
Rich, ripe aromas of strawberry jam, cherry, raspberry puree and chambord; shisha, floral pastilles, cream cordials and a hint of blueberry sauce on the nose.
The palate shows the full 15.6+% alcohol. Flavors of strawberry jam, ripe cherry and raspberry pie filling, rhubarb compote, shisha, blueberry, pink peppercorn and floral pastilles. Acidity keeps this from being overblown, tannins are moderate to moderate-plus. The finish linger with the red fruit and floral notes echoing.

Overall a big Grenache that behind the alcohol retains the feminine qualities of the varietal.

  • A fine bottle - she needs a bit of air to spread her wings and when she does, flies nicely. Easy on the fruit. Decant and drink.

  • After allowed to air out in the decanter for 3+ hours. Most likely suffering from cork taint. I will still try and analyze but reserve any scoring.

Aromas of medium/medium+ intensity carry bold red fruit that are slightly on the jammy/syrupy side. Sweet red cherry, Strawberry jam/syrup, cassis, raspberry with baking spice, tobacco, earth and shisha smoke.
On the palate medium body with good weight and texture. The tannins are moderate and the acidity is medium/medium+ keeping this wine from being fat and flabby. Flavors of cherry shisha smoke, strawberry, tobacco and earth but the flaw is clearly evident and mutes the flavors and aromas that all come through as secondary to the flaw. Such a shame, luckily I have another bottle.
