  Notes written on day two:
  A spicy/ savory nose with sage, tobacco and pepper mixed with violets and tart blackberries. Light oxidation.
  
  The palate shows some sweet dark cherry compote with peppery high toned acidity, soft tannins and some subtle oxidative notes. Oak is pretty well integrated.
  
  Not a big, extracted Syrah - comes from a cool vintage, showing a very elegant, balanced style.
