Not my words but perfectly put: perfectly mature, sweet plush strawberry fruit with a little bit of orange. Round and long with great balance, fruit driven but the acidity was definitely present if a bit in the background to the fruit. A bit of damp earth mingling with the juiciness. At peak, but not going anywhere out of this format. Score is mine

Cork broke upon extraction. Musty nose of raspberry and brioche. I was worried. On the palate, certainly an old champagne: almost a Montrachet quality with a slight effervescence. Outstanding.

A golden orange in colour with just brief glimpses of the trickling bead through the wine. The nose showed life through honeycomb and floral notes as well as an almondy oxidative character. I took a sip, and to my surprise there was still a core of acid present and propping up a palate that is clinging onto life with good depth of flavour
