A great NZ Chardonnay that I think punches above it’s weight. I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of aromas and complexity, as well as balance in the wine. Highly recommend buying and opening it now.
Yes, can be some sulphur aromas at pop and pour. But blows off quickly enough in the glass. Very focused palate. Just a little bit of new oak shows. Some sweet pea notes along with very defined pear fruit. Way more mineral than fruit on the nose and palate. Very much a salted palate. Lots of life ahead of this wine. Drink to 2025.

Overall I tend to place NZ Chardonnay slightly behind South African, of which I have more drinking experience, but this winery is clearly capable of excellent wine with good ageing capability. this was as fresh as a daisy with nice depth and finish. Slightly reserved on the fruit which I prefer. Lovely

Colour: intense gold.
Acids: high.
Body: medium.
Finish: long.
Aromas: crispy rice cracker, white flowers, tropical fruits (perhaps dragon fruit), pear, and minerality.
Outstanding!

SB grapes are better from Marlborugh. This Chardonnay is Soft and plesant, however no minerality and accidity.
