  • Briefly decanted. The intensely aromatic nose gives undeniable clues of what awaits your palate. Rich and full bodied with an amazing endless finish that holds your attention. A stunning wine from the enormously gifted winemaker Mike Smith.

  • Consumed over 3 days and each subsequent day the wine got better. Stored overnight in a normal fridge with vacuvin...

Nose started to open more and more on day 3 but still plenty of backbone in this wine. Wait another 3 years before consuming last one or maybe 2 to do a 10-year check-in....

If opening now decant for a good 4 hours.

  • Inky purple in color. Medium viscosity. Nose contains candied cherries, gentle oak, nutmeg, and plum. The wine is full bodied with well balanced tannins and acidity that ingegrate decently well. Palate is oaky with dark fruit predominating. Finish is prolonged. In comparison to a recent 2016 George III myriad that I had recently this is less sweet and quite honestly a better wine

  • Decanted for about an hour. The wine exhibits some herbal undertones that detracts from the wine, and is typical of an 11 from the valley floor. Not sure if wine will give anything further with more age.

  • Aerated with Vinturi and decanted for 1.5 hours. Aromas of blackberry, currant, milk chocolate and spice. Black and red fruit, mocha, spice and fine tannins on the palate. Medium to long finish. Full bodied. Served with filet Béarnaise.
