Purslane nails the description. A darker, more tannic style than north coast pinot, but very good. The aromas peaked about two hours into decant, no rush on my last bottle.

Deep dark but not opaque. Just smelling the inviting nose of purple raspberry, black cherry, and black plum makes the mouth salivate. Enters the mouth roundly tannic, smoothly acidic, delicious, integrated and fruity, with nothing harsh, sour, or astringent. The swallow glides down the throat and shows the tannin otherwise underneath the wine. At its peak, ready to drink straight out of the just opened bottle anytime in the next few years.

Improved in every way after being open for 3 days. The color went from light red to dark red. The nose gained fruit and depth, with black cherry, purple raspberry, and blueberry. The swallow become mouth coating, with buoyant acidity and dry slightly austere tannin. The wine lacks the silky texture that would be expected from being aged for 26 months in French oak, but this most likely will emerge with additional age. Very tasty by itself and with food. An outstanding value at $15 from Wines Til Sold Out.
