Upon opening, it’s all about the botrytis. Nose of apricot, and marmalade. After breathing it becomes all tobacco/smoky and floral. Very sweet, and the acid is perhaps a little underdone. Though the wine does tighten up on the finish.

Mid gold. A little dark for the age but the nose is reassuringly fresh. Classic botrytis nose. Apricot, cumquat, marmalade. Sweet but not cloying. Just lovely.

Subdued Botrytis characteristics on the nose (think dried apricots et al). Opening up as the wine warms. Dark golden colour showing its age (for an Australian sticky). Intense sweetness without being cloying. Excellent acid structure balances it well. Life still left in it for a few more years. Goes well with artisan blue cheese (The Rock from Coolamon Cheese matched well tonight).

One of the (few) realy good whites of the Henschke range. Not overly viscous. Super concentrated peach and apricot flavours balanced by lovely, mouth watering acid. Very long.
