Medium ruby hue. Aromas of bell pepper, cassis, cherry, graphite, iron, leather, licorice, tar, violet. Full bodied, with full tannins and plus acidity. Structured and elegant. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc.

Needed a couple hours to open up. Mint and toast on the nose with aome black currants mixed in. Palate is a little rustic with coarse tannins, but just enough fruit to match. Finish a bit short but pleasing. This isn’t showy or deep—but perfectly balanced with typical left bank flavors. Nice wine. Would hold a few more years and see if tannins soften a bit.
Much better on night 2. Still struggles with some rusticity but there a lovely nose that really sells it. 92-93

Union Grands Crus Bordeaux (UGC) 2020 Tasting (Hangar 14, Bordeaux): Nice but overall wanted more fruit and tannin. Juicy merlot is evident with good acidity.
