Community Tasting Notes (50) Avg Score: 91.6 points

  • Popped and poured. Dark garnet color. Nose of blackberry, cassis, slightly herbal, a touch of vanilla and dark chocolate coming through from the oak. Very nice. Similar flavors on the palate with dark black fruits, cedar, some slightly earthy undertones but still more primary and fruit driven at this point. Medium acidity and tannin. Smooth mouthfeel and finish. Delicious, balanced Bordeaux. Good now but room to grow.

  • 14.5/16. 88-92. Good value. 51% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot. Excellent cork condition. No fault. Deep garnet. Looks young even though wine is already 11 years old. Decanted and opened after 4 hours. This wine requires a lot of air and patience. It has a good sense of place - pointing the wine to Margaux. Smooth, aromatic, balanced and refined. Nose - Medium intensity. Plenty of red fruit suggesting a high merlot content - Strawberry, Raspberry etc.. A strong presence of black fruits that points to Cabernet Sauvignon – blackcurrant, blackberry etc.. White flowers. Rose. Violet. Bell Pepper. Wet Stone. Pepper. Oak. Vanilla. Coco. Multi-layer. Very aromatic. More so in nosing than tasting. Still a little tannic in the palate. Long finish. Aftertaste lingers in the palate. Balance 3.5. Length 3.5. Intensity 3.5. Complexity 4. Can be better in an hour. Paired with prime Japanese A5 Kobe Wagyu, Brie with roasted nuts, red cream sauce prawn pasta.

  • On initial pop and pour, oak notes overpowered a bit. Decanted for around 1.5 hours and the wine opened up beautifully. Nose of dark red and black fruits, bitter cocoa dusted raspberry, black currant, pencil shaving/graphite and some toasty oak and vanilla notes in the background. Similar flavors on the palate with plump and juicy fruit and a silky smooth mouthfeel. Medium acidity and tannin. Long finish. Definitely in a prime drinking window right now with a bit of air but should continue to age nicely.

  • Damp earth, liquorice, dark chocolate, dark flowers, black currant, and gravel on the nose. Amazing spicy tingly acidity added on the palette. Burgundian. A little cracked leather on the second day. Utterly delicious.
