A forward bouquet of fragrant oak, ripe blackberries, sweet spices, tobacco and minerality. Palate echoed the nose. The oak influence is going strong on the palate. Good depth and extended mid-palate. Full-bodied structure with polished edges, followed by a velvety and lingering finish. Just need half an hour in the decanter for the aromatics to open up. Will continue to develop for the next 5 years.

Along with the classic Margaux smell of mocha, also a touch of green, make it quite pretty. Palate is light and fresh, classic, just opened and right in prime time drinking window I would say.

Eerder in 2018 gedronken, toen nog 'hoekig', nu zachter. Vereist wel stevig vlees, stevige saus. Heel goed, lekker, minder fluweel dan andere Margaux's

Tasted opened and poured in a Chinese restaurant in Den Haag. 55% CS, 27% M, 11% CF and 7% PV. Colour: v deep cherry red, v thin rim, purple tinge. Nose: full, v ripe, cassis the noticeable plum, complex. Taste: med body, q assertive even after a couple of hours (13.5% ABV), excellent fruit with plum a dominant note, long finish, rounded, soft tannins, elegant and good depth. Overall, surprised by reading the blend afterwards as the Merlot was very forward with the CS still tight.A most enjoyable wine.

Much better than 12 months ago. Cleaner fruit, hints of cedar and flowers.
