  • Produced from the Tempranillo of a single 1.5-hectare vineyard, aged for 18 months in new French and Central European oak.
Decanted and allowed to open over the course of a couple hours.
Scents of cherry, cranberry and pomegranate that show highlights of oak, cigar box, rosemary, pine, balsamic, dried rose, tea, earth and anise.
The palate show penetrating acidity, moderate to moderate-plus tannins and medium weight. Flavors show a balsamic tinge to the cherry, cranberry, pomegranate and plum fruit flavors that are seasoned with notes of spice, herbs, dried flowers, anise, tobacco, tea, oak and earth. The finish shows tension and youthfulness.

  • Tasting Notes from trip to Rioja; 7/5/2013-7/12/2013: Darker than La Nieta, a touch purple, Balsamic and blackberries, opulent, much more in your face, very fruity and young. This is big intense wine, perhaps too big. 5 percent aged in hungarian casks. Surprisingly short finish.
