Tastes like an older wine wine on the way down. I think its on the edge of flawed, and not all appealing. Astringency overcomes any fruit. Disappointing as i've really enjoyed the last couple of Nero d' Avola's I've had. Not recommended.
While this wine wasn't bad it just wasn't good. Possibly still too young but I don't think that was the problem. It seemed disjointed and unable to find an identity and sense of place. Rustic and very dry so not a 'happy hour' style at all. Once paired with a nice red gravy and meatballs it showed some potential. I wish I had another bottle to see where this goes. It just confused me. Sorry.

Had this wine at La Medusa in Seattle's Columbia City neighborhood. The wine was light bodied, but smokey and leathery in a delightful way. It was enjoyed even by the non wine drinkers at the table!
