Kept this open for a week, retasting daily. Dark red in color with aromas of red cherry and mild pomegranate. The sip is fairly juicy and fruity with a decent balance of acidity and tannin. Enjoyable with a fair range of food. However, the wine is not outstanding in any way.

All gone---bummer...! We drank the last bottle alongside a 2012, and the 2011 remains more complex, while the 2012 shows younger with a little more zip. If you have any left, drink them now as the color is turning just a tad bit amber along the rim, and it's beginning to lose some of its structure. Looking forward to the 2012s, but we're going to let them sit in the cellar for a little longer.

Even better and softer than the last time around after a two hour decant. More complex flavors of barnyard funk on the bouquet with subtle fungi and chocolate dust slow dancing with ripe, red fruits. I absolutely adore this PN, which is a steal at $20. This gem followed a 2009 Ken Wright Abbot and 2012 LWC Gary's vineyards and was the dinner party favorite. Drinking exceedingly well right now.

Imagine a ruby red silken glove smeared and stained with cherries and raspberries. One finger of that glove is dipped in vanilla ice cream while another finger lightly scratches shavings from a dark chocolate bar. Now coat your tongue with that imagination. This wine is sophisticated, delicate and leans toward old world stylings, and at $20/bottle is a steal. Thanks, Mr. Schug for epitomizing Carneros PN.
