deep garnet in the center with a slight hint of garnet on the edge of the glass. The nose is clear, medium + intense and rich in tertiary aromas, red and black fruits, with a great touch of black currant, mint, vanilla, cedar, tobacco, chocolate and black pepper. On the palate it has a wonderful elegance with the concentration of Bordeaux wines, velvety tannin refined from the 19 years of this wine and a long and long finish.

The Chateau where the treaties ending the 100 year war were signed in the 1400s...awesome! A wonderful history to this property however may have waited too long for this vintage; it was tired and flabby. Drinkable, throwing fine sediment but would be interested in finding a recent year(s) to try. Cheers.

Saint Emilion 2000 vintage: 15 years in bottle (Grill Room at the Rosewood): I may have liked #19 more than most participants, and so the Château Pressac gave off its cooler location with somewhat strict tannins perhaps. But overall, a rather impressive wine that shows how it merits its new ranking as grand cru classé given its fine limestone terroir.

The wine is a clear garnet color. I decanted an hour before dinner and there was moderate sediment in the bottle. It tastes like raspberry, cherry and cedar. It is medium bodied with almost no hints of tannin. It was much better than I expected and went very well with grilled lamb chops.
