  • Deep red garnet color. On the nose, notes of black cherries, cedar, lavender, pencil savings, mint and a hint of tar. Wonderful balance of acidity and tannins. Very nice mouthfeel with a long and pleasant finish.

  • Once again thanks to Dan D for opening this beauty. Cherry aromatics with some cedar wood in nose. In mouth the wine is reserved. Soft and round mouthfeel reveals darker fruits than the cherry nose revealed. I get blackberry, cassis and graphite. This is an understated wine which is near peak right now. Improved after 30 minutes opened.

  • Outstanding wine like the 09' and probably also at its peak right now. Thanks to Dan D for sharing this one.

This bottle alongside the 2009 was better the the 09'. The nose is weak and almost non present. With that said the in mouth flavors are not just present but velvety and fruit present. Frankly delightful wine worth finding. Jus so present. In the finish I get blackberry, some cassis, tobacco leaf, plum and black cherry like the 09'. Also like the 09' its tannins are totally resolved. Again this wine is ready to drink right now.

  • We did take care to let it breathe, and tasted over the course of 20 minutes to 3 hours to see how it evolves.
    The wine was fine.
    But no other superlatives.
    It did not evolve.
I do not see much benefit for further aging.

  • Jubey and jammy black fruits; blackcurrant with plums, blackberry, cream, muted vanilla, caramel...and what you smell is what is you get on the palate. Alcoholic fruit bomb with vanilla and spice. Tannins are plentiful, grippy but nicely handled, it is very much what it is. Begs charred meat and sunshine...stuck half the bottle under argon and then consumed it the next day with dinner...

Black fruits, alcohol heat, still quite primary despite its' age and being open over 24 hours. It's more prunes and raisins on the palate, chalky tannins, the alcohol has grown more prominent but this still has black fruit and vanilla underpinnings.
