Very nice, juicy and well structured without being plodding for Pommard. Cherry, plum skin, baking spice. This manages to ride that line of juicy and ripe, while remaining freshness and levity and while broad it is never plodding or heavy.

Nicolas Rossignol's 2011s (Bistro 7 (7 N. 3rd St., Philadelphia)): Quite austere. Restrained. Steely, clean acidity. Bright red fruit. In comparison to the Chanlins, it just felt like this was missing that extra gear. Lacked the same stuffing and substance. Maybe in time this will round into form.

A good wine, that somehow didn't impress. Others liked it a lot more than I did.
