  • moderate oxidation but still ok. This bottle was a little better than the other score listed in CT but I agree that the wine is a little "off." I think the problem was with the bottling. The cork came out a little two easily. Still there was a decent acidity and some notes of apricot.

  • this wine is off. was not well liked by spectator when it was released in the united states. i have the feeling that the wine that came here was subjected to excess heat either in transit or in storage. recent comments from a taster in australia suggests that his wine was true to style and still in good condition. both bottles that i have tasted were reminiscent of an amontillado sherry but with burnt qualities totally overshadowing any other charms. i would be interested to know whether any american consumer has had a more pleasant experience. i am maintaining the 75 rating for historical accuracy even though i believe that the wine is not what was intended when it was made. i am maintaining longevity estimate for the benefit of members outside the united states that may hold more enjoyable bottles.
