  • a bit disappointing
lots of spice but not much fruit compared to prior bottles

  • Served blind and is a dead ringer for a white burg. The 1st note from the nose is all crushed rocks and minerals, followed by honey, wild flowers, fresh cut vanilla bean, wheat/hay, candied ginger. Beautiful weight on the palate showing presence but glides with good acids on the finish. Very impressed by this wine.

  • The bouquet presents mineral notes, (dry) chamomile honey essences, dry fall leaves, earth, merengue, varietal characteristics (pear essence in particular), fruit (citrus), and oak imparted spice. The palate reveals a harmonious balance of minerals, seductive textural weight, (dry) honeyed notes, herbal teas, oak, and acid. The wine's low alcohol content allows the layered mineral and earth elements to show beautifully. A remarkable Washington Chardonnay, among the most enjoyable I have tasted. 93-94.
