Haunting Dinner (Ciao Bella, Mpls): Dark red color. PNP, drank a glass over 90 minutes. Great dried herbs, smoke, cherry, lacquer, slowly opens to show dried red fruits, soil, earth and tar on the nose. The palate is surprisingly youthful, yet filled with complexity; ultra savory, dried cherry, cherry, tar, minerals, lacquer, dried herbs, polished tannins. Glorious.

I've got 2 ea. of '06, '07. '10 & '13. Tonight's btl makes me want to keep my hands off ALL of mine for at minimum of 5 plus more years. I've had one each so far & while they're promising, none are haunting like this ghostly, translucent crimson '87!! This was a pleasure to sniff, sip & ponder. Intensity & concentration but, w/ a feather like caress. Wine from Brunello hallowed ground! Dusty red fruit, mineral, spice, sous-bois & other lovely notes below or above my palate register to name. Be aware, don't write this off too quickly after opening. Ours started out a bit acidic & lean. After an hour or so it added fruit, complexity and harmony as the night evolved. A special experience for me having swung by the winery but never tasted a fully aged btl! This is why you buy Biondi but don't do it if you don't have decades to lay it down. Close to my WOTN. maybe a tie?

Outstanding - wonderful balance and structured, with notes of blueberry, blackberry and raspberry, with a note of pepper. Great mouth feel, with a medium finish. 92-93.

One of the best bottles we have had of this half case. Bright fruit notes, raspberry, cherry and blueberry. A long, linear finish.
