Purchased a magnum at auction for $18, wasn’t expecting much. Cork came out intact and I immediately got a blast of pinot funk. PNP, took about an hour for the funk to give way to beautiful dried rose petals and earthy forest floor. On the pallete the wine showed its age and was a bit tired yet still showing nice acidity with the characteristic Oregon Pinot cranberry notes. Suprisingly fun wine!

tasting pretty youthful tonight. A little VA blew off with some time in glass. This needs a decant. I'm shocked at the youthfulness of this wine. Red fruit spectrum. Faint mushroom. Nice lift and acids.

Definitely funky on opening, but evolved for the better with a bit of slow ox in bottle. Cranberry and dark red cherry, light body with enough herb and forest character to make it interesting. $11 for 18 year old Oregon Pinot and worth taking the chance.

No formal notes, but enjoyed this over 30 minutes or so on a pop and pour. This was quite funky and a little off putting on the nose, but showing some nice forest floor, too. The palate was soft with resolved tannins, mild funk, decent acidity, and a mild profile. Similar on the finish, with only very light tannins and pretty good acidity. It's the acidity on this that holds it together and keeps it interesting.

2013 note is still valid. This took 2 hours to open up, putting on a bit of weight and depth as it breathed.
