"Bordeaux" blend from Provence, which may explain the interesting and enjoyable mix of currant, plum, sweet tobacco, red fruit, and herb/rosemary flavors in this full-bodied wine with very smooth and soft tannins. Imagine Claret meets Gigondas. Excellent value at ~$14.

Dark fruit nose with chokeberries, black cherries and blackcurrants accompanied by PV-like medicinal herbs, herbaceous lift and some aromatic wood. Medium bodied and pretty tannic palate with thin mid-palate showing slight green apple tartness. Dusty graphite, cinnamon and liquorice. Mid-length. Open and aromatic even if a bit tight and thin on the palate. Very nice value nonetheless.
