A fine example of a strategy for maximizing enjoyment of a wine. If you bought a wine in quantity with high expectations that disappoints, first slowly keep retasting it for days. If that does not help, wait a year or two before opening another bottle. This high altitude Chardonnay proved to be much better with 2 years more of bottle age. Smoother, richer, and more complex and delicious. Delightfully aromatic, mouth coating, long and soothing. Tasted right beside a 2015 Verget Chablis with sharp acidity made the Schwiger seem sweeter, softer, and lower in acidity, though still very enjoyable.

golding up a bit in color, notes of vanilla and lemon. Best feature of this wine is the texture. It is full bodied like a semillon without much residual sugar. I wasn't crazy about the acid balance -- a bit disjointed. Still, a good bang for the buck at <$20. Consistent experience in 3 bottles

Pale yellow color with floral and lemon scents. Fills the mouth with a combination of caressing texture, ginger, nutmeg, and lemon acidity. The swallow adds a hint of sweetness, but the finish is completely dry. A fine example of high altitude mountain grown Napa Chardonnay.

Chardonnay sourced from spring mountain fruit. This is one of the only chardonnays I loved on this trip. Bursting with structure and complexity. Acidity for the backbone but not overpowering. You can taste the mineral, chalky components intermixed with the sweet floral and citrus tones. A very nice balance of fruit and earth with a sweet rounded finish. Loved it.
