  • Dark impenetrable maroon color.

Concentrated nose of cedar, menthol, blackcurrant, violets and tobacco.

Lovely palate weight. Cool black fruits, blackberries, blackcurrants. Very smooth on the palate and long. Finishes quite peppery.

This is impressive and shows plenty of life left.

  • Decanted for sediment, returned to bottle, slow-O 3 hours and consumed over the following 3 hours. Showing little sign of age, very dark ruby core. Attractive aromas of cassis, fine cedar, blue and black berries, herbs. Light on its feet for such a substantial wine; several layers of fruit, mostly evolved tannins and good acidity. Just 13,3% abv, a joy to drink, with another 5 years of solid drinking ahead of it, but not likely to improve. In a very good spot at the moment. Another Coonawarra success, another Majella success. recommended

  • Nose
initially showed soy saurce like aroma , black fruit, spice, tea leaves. It became fruitier an hour later.

    Palate
Initially high acidity, almost sharp. Rich but not too dense on mid palate. Resolved tannin. Slightly bitter finish, med length.
After an hour, it became not so acidic and finish was longer
