From a pristine looking bottle with a 2 cm fill, this wine had a deep yellow center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose displayed vanilla, apple, citrus, and hazel nut.
This wine was nice but a bit reserved and rigid when first poured. It took 7 hours of air to show its best and still seem to be slowly improving. It was relatively refined in the mouth with medium weight and firm acidity. The length was impressive.
This wine is clearly very good and still seems somewhat young but it is hard to tell exactly where it is going or if it will improve. My guess is that many tasters will drink this too fast or miss it subtleties. However, even given a long look, it is not clear that this wine will rise to heights that it should given the year and the vineyard. It might, only time will tell.

Brilliant yellow-gold, certainly looked younger than a 21 year old Chardonnay! Notes of dried white flower, brioche, candied apple, and hints of wet stone. Medium to full bodied, with a dreamy mouthfeel, amazing depth and balance, with a long and focused finish. A privilege to taste this wine!

What a disappointment. Despite the vineyard this was all misplaced oak and alcohol. Would've not buy again.

50th Birthday Celebration Dinner with Wine (Chez Schmidt - Chicago IL): Very fresh for its age. Ripe. apple, good spice on both nose and palate. Moderate length and intensity. Slightly short.
