Surprisingly made up of black grapes from Verneuil and Vandière in the Marne Valley, argilo-limestone soil. Chardonnay grapes from Chouilly, “Grand Cru” from the famous “Côtes des blancs”, limestone soil and subsoil. 70% Pinot Menier, 20% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay.
The nose shows a mix of quince paste, pear compote, white peach, citrus, orchard blossoms, lavender, honey suckle, custard, griddled brioche, almond, honey and hints of sea mist and minerals. The palate has a fine mousse with above moderate acidity and palate weight provided by the black grapes. Almost rich across the mid-palate with a fleshy texture. Flavors follow the nose with quince paste, pear compote, orange and lemon citrus, apple blossoms, honeysuckle, French toast, almonds, saline and minerals. The finish lingers hanging on the back-palate.

Beautiful nose of buttered brioche with quince and pear preserves. The palate is a bit lacking. There's some really delicious membrillo and asian pear but htis lacks stuffing or palate presence. That said, it's quite a serviceable Champagne. 89
