This was so very nice. It was really crisp, but still displayed a touch of oak that I enjoyed. It was slightly lighter than I expected, but I attributed that to youth. I think that I will leave my next bottle alone for a year or two to see how it develops as I believe it will gain in complexity. I’m becoming a bigger fan of the Santa Cruz AVA with each new wine that I try. Unfortunately, many of them are too expensive for me to sample frequently. This one was budget friendly at $23.

A really classy, old-school, hands-off style of winemaking here, this chard feels incredibly natural. High-acid and brisk but with mellow yellow fruits that are kind of inherently complex in the way that 10 different people could call label it as 10 different fruits-apple, pear, peach, guava, banana, etc. They release it a year or two late to let it settle down a bit from its high-acid nature.

Light butterscotch notes, vanilla, and bright stone fruits. Great beam of acidity. Minerality and caramel on the finish.

Good QPR. Light yellow gold color. Pleasant nose of lemon curd and vanilla. Good acidity. Flavors mirror the nose. Solid but not extravagant.
