Aged for 2 years in 350-liter oak casks of 2nd or 3rd use.
Moderately dark, translucent cherry color with a slightly blueish hue. Typcal Pinosity in the nose: tart lingonberries, ripe cranberries, some peppery spice and a hint of earthiness. Alcohol shows a little. On the palate the wine is dry, but also pretty soft and mellow with rather full body and medium-to-moderate acidity for a Pinot Noir. There are flavors of raspberry, bitter spices, some noticeable oak character and a hint of earth. The tannins are very mellow and easy. The finish is a bit more complex and expressive than the midpalate with slightly tart red fruit flavors, some spicy oak, a little sweet dark cherry and a hint of smoke. The aftertaste is quite long, round, smooth and a bit warm.
A decent, but also quite pedestrian Pinot Noir that is a bit too soft and oak-heavy, making it lack character. Not really a classicist's Pinot, but most likely an enjoyable and balanced wine for the fans of new world Pinot Noir. Feels a bit overpriced at 18,46€.
