2 hour slo-ox and drank over 2 days. Full bodied, rich dark blackberry fruit interlaced with kirsch, spice, and cassis. A superb example of purity of fruit providing unrestrained gratification.
Superb wine! Had alongside a 2008 Musar. Both very different wines but both strong in their own way. 13 year old Abreu showed lots of strength and depth. Lots of Napa red dirt, graphite, cigar box, dark, dusty fruit and mature texture, mild acid and warm grip. Long beautiful finish.

Abreu's 2009 Madrona has a beautiful, rich nose of blueberry, cassis, smoke, and chocolate. Concentrated blue & black fruit on the palate but there's an astringency and drying tannic structure perhaps from the oak regime that throws this out of balance and prevents greatness.

Hmmm. Dense dark ruby color. High sugar, long legs. Nose opening up every minute. Notes of berries and chocolate, scent of vainilla. Very impressive hidden complexity that shows up with air time. Tastes of leather and earthy products, mushrooms and soil, extreme subtlety for a Cabernet Sauvignon. Incredible effort, you can enjoy this beauty for another 30 years.

Inky dark red. Coffee and smoked meats on the nose. Dark fruits, earth, and cocoa in the palate. Deliciois
