  • Surprisingly nice wine, considering that the year was awful and consistently rainy. When first opened the wine seemed clunky and earthy in an unpleasant way. After allowing it to breathe for about six hours, that funkiness disappeared and a soft merlot-like wine emerged. (This despite bieng equal parts cab suv, malbec, and petit verdot.) Dark purple color and medium to full bodied. Soft tannins, creamy milk chocolate, raspberry, and red stone fruits. We drank it with a dish similar to a feijoada and its softness balanced the meal nicely without getting lost or distorted by the strong flavors.
