  • Gorgeous color. Fresh and quite pronounced nose of red berries; nice mouse.

  • Again the 12/1/2021 disgorgement entirely from the 2017 harvest.

This bottle is similar to the one in October: dark red fruit and chalk on the nose; fruit on the palate tending towards dark red cherries and ahints of raspberry and strawberry; minerality and light tannins appearing after the fruit and persisting into the quite long finish.

As always, this is an interesting wine - not one I'll buy cases of, but worth dipping into from time to time as a slightly different aperitif or with, perhaps, roast lamb or some other dish where a light red wine might also be appropriate.

  • The same 12 January 2021 disgorgement from the 2017 harvest, and another 6 months brings more progress: the fruit now much more apparent, even slightly sweet towards the finish; minerality still prominent. Now an very nice wine both as a slightly different aperitif and the oomph to pair with food.

  • This is the 2018 of this, my first time having this. Very deep darker cherry/ruby color. Very perfumed, with notes of ripe blackberries, some red currant, ripe dark red cherries, chalky mineral note, some sweet spices, a musky note too. It's full-bodied, a ripe mouthful of wine, just lacks a little acidity to balance everything, acidity is medium-low, no tannin noticeable so they are on top of their "saignée". Medium length. A ripe, perfumed pleasure bomb of Champagne. Just lacks some tension and freshness to be really fascinating. Delicious though and a crowdpleaser.

  • A few months on, I'm finding that the same batch as my 11/12/2022 TN is showing a bit more balanced with more fruit showing with a little air.

I am tending to agree with the much earlier TN by YOFOG that these wines seem to benefit from at least 3 years in bottle after disgorgement.
