  • Ordered by the glass at the Wine View Bar at Helsinki airport. The wine was kept under inert gas. It was light garnet in colour in the center, turning light orange towards the rim, with transparent edges. The Pinot offered a delicate nose of dried flowers, shy dried berry aromas, mild spices, herbs, mushroom, some underbrush, caramel and a mild cognac component. On the palate the wine was very light-bodied, smooth and balanced, with delicate red and dark berry flavours, rose petal, herbs, toffee and hints of tobacco and mild premium cognac, paired with medium-plus acidity, fully-integrated tannins and tremendous length of the minty and slightly drying aftertaste which lingered for ages. A very delicate and feminine expression of Vosne-Romanée. A wine that did not convince me upon the first sip, but really grew on me over time.
