Farewell Filippo, Il Duomo table (La Trompette, London): Nicely pale rosé. Crisp. Quite yeasty on the nose until it lifts. Cones in to its own with food but quite invigorating beforehand. Nuanced and almost delicate. Soft red fruit. Not a muscular or confected rosé — lots of interest. Lovely. ****

Dinner Robuchon Macau. Drunk with langoustines. Excellent salmon red colour. Nose of strawberries and yeast. Lovely rasberry in mouth. Not a long lingering but sharp finnish.

& samhoud|places (Amsterdam): The 2009 Roses de Jeanne Rosé Creux d’Enfer (100% Pinot Noir) is rich and loaded with ripe red fruit, fabulous balance and a very fine mousse. An exotic and complex wine!
