  • Regardless of how his Chardonnays may show - and some shoe pretty damn well - one thing can be said for how Brian’s Chardonnays show in the glass - beautifully!! This example is a deep yellow gold. The nose is all about baking spices and golden yellow apple, pie crust and yeast. Unfortunately, the palate presents with a sweetness from the fruit. The heat on the finish continues to suggest that the alcohol is out of balance. The mouthfeel is a touch flabby. Eventually, the wine rolls to a finish of coconut, yeast and toast. 14.9% alc. With walnut crusted halibut (mother’s day), a nice pairing with the wine not overpowering the dish. Recommended.

  • From pale yellow to light straw in color - in any event, it’s beautiful in the glass. The nose is golden yellow apple, baking spices, pie crust and yeast. Maybe some lychee nut/fruit steps ou as the wine warms. The palate is dominated on the attack with sweet fruit. One of the tasters thought the wine was a “sweet” i.e. dessert wine, but of course, it’s not. The wine is dry but the sweet apple flavors on the attack might impress someone that the wine itself is sweet. The alcohol is out of balance just now (and perhaps always will be?) making for a somewhat hot, blousey mouthfeel. While some coconut rolls forward on the finish, the yeast and toast bat away any remaining traces by the time the big finish is, well, finished. While this wine did not seem to be in decline like the bottle last summer, I’m still not impressed with this bottling. 14.9% alc. With ravioli (pasta) in a cider cream sauce. Recommended with reservations.

  • From pale yellow to light straw in color - in any event, it’s beautiful in the glass. The nose is golden yellow apple, baking spices and toast. Maybe some lychee nut as the wine warms. The palate is dominated t toast, too much so. But it also reflects some coconut on the finish. The fruit is somewhat faint or fading here; am not impressed with the life of this wine since it seems to be in decline. 14.9% alc. With lobster rolls. Recommended.

  • No detailed notes. Rich, yet balanced. Flavors of pineapple, ripe apples and creamy mouthfeel. With GRY and MadelineW announcing PM being shortlisted by ancien universitie. With ravioli in sage cream.
