Heida from 100 year old ungrafted vines grown around Heidadorf Visperterminen in Upper Valais, some of the highest vineyards in Europe at 1,370 m altitude. Brass coloured. Opulent aromas of golden apple and peach running alongside tropical notes like pineapple and lychee. Like a christmas cake. There is a floral edge as well. Full, rich and complex with a greasy texture. Not flabby but merely supported by its acidity.

DWCC Iconic Swiss Varietals with Mr. Paolo Basso (Montreux, Switzerland): Funky and full. Smoke and slate. Quite pungent and tropical with pineapple jelly, lychee and passion fruit. Something quite exotic going on here. A synonym for Savagnin Blanc. Grown at 1000 meters from pre-phyloxxera vines. Quite full but with impressive acidity. Finishes out with a heavy glycerin aspect.

A glorious and educational tasting of Swiss wines (Bern, Switzerland): Despite being grown at 1150 meters, this wine is an impressively full 13.5%. A flinty and smoky nose moves to a very full palate. Flabby, spicy, peppery, too sweet and showing some overt notes of alcohol.
