Straw to light gold. Medium legs. Plenty of enticing aromas: grapefruit, lemon, pineapple predominate with underlying lime, peach, banana and nutmeg, light to medium toast. Flavors of citrus with more pronounced nutmeg and peach. Light to medium body, polished and bright texture, medium finish, low to medium acidity. Overall impression: clearly a Gris, not a Grigio. A bit Viognier-like. Interesting, multifaceted wine. Good enough that we will seek out other Opolos. At $24, QPR is average. Drink now or in 2018.

This is an excellent white wine, with very appealing mellon aroma, plenty of tropical fruit flavor, and an alcohol spice finish. It makes a statement. Our guests loved it with Thanksgiving dinner. I need to find more of this for the cellar.

Not normally a Pinot Gris fan, but the folks at Opolo make some of the best. It's a Pinot Gris that's trying to be a Viognier ... and it's quite nice.
