  I held off to have this last bottle (of two cases) for another year, and it was worth it. What a vintage. This bottle just knocked us all out. Nose has even more sweet tar than previously, with a tad less roses -- and it was big big big -- just didn't give up. The palate had juicy nebbiolo fruit, earth, more tar, a bright acidic backbone. The flavors just kept on rolling along with a tang of a tannin bite at the end.

  At the top of its game. Nose has intense sweet tar with floral notes. The palate is tangy, earthy, tarry, mushroomy, with good backbone of acidity balancing the dark fruit. Great vintage of Ferrando Carema. Moderate tannins finish it off. I'm pushing the drink date back to 2017, since this is showing no sign of getting old.

  As close as you can get to great red burgundy in Piemonte. So delicate, pretty, and elegant. A gorgeous wine.

  Requires being open for a min. of an hour or two. I first tried it via Coravin, but since that results in no air, no decanting, I had to wait a while before it blossomed. See my notes of Aug 2014 for what this was like.
