Fully mature and drinking nicely. Some honey development and smoky mineral notes. It has a core of sweet peach fruit and some spice. It is creamy and layered with relatively gentle acidity.

Grand Blanc at Aquarelle French Restaurant (Austin, Texas): A very interesting and elegant wine, it developed after a few minutes into a round and powerful blanc. With white flowers, caramel and nuttiness on the nose and finesse, this wine was “singing and dancing,” with a creamy texture reminiscent of white chocolate-covered almonds and a very long, complex finish, though a bit abrasive for a couple of the tasters here. Excellent with cheese and with Aquarelle’s frog legs.
