Thin, slightly greenish color. Surprisingly the nose is quite restrained and un-aromatic for a Gewürztraminer with some ripe pear and rather atypical aromas of asparagus and nettle leaves. This really smells like Sauvignon Blanc, not Gewürztraminer. On the palate the wine is medium-bodied and surprisingly acid-driven for the variety, probably thanks to Riesling. There are tart lemony citrus fruit flavors, green apple and some apricot - with nothing that would point to the direction of Gewürztraminer. The finish is crisp but rather short with flavors of fresh apples, stony minerality and some citrus fruits.
This is quite odd and very atypical for a Gewürztraminer - it smells like Sauvignon Blanc and drinks like a Riesling or a cool-climate Chardonnay (or a non-aromatic Gewürztraminer aka. Traminer). Not once did I think I was drinking Gewürztraminer. Overall this is a nice little everyday white with good structure, freshness and nice fruit department - although flavor-wise the wine is quite boring with no discernible character of its own. However, for a Gewürztraminer this is quite a disappointment. After all, if you are buying a Gewü, you'll probably want to drink a Gewü. At 9,99€ I'd let the bottle stay in the shop.

Subtle fruity nose. On the palate dry with vibrant flavors of tropical fruit and floral notes. A bit austere finish. Pretty good. 86-87.

A Gewürztraminer with a 5% addition of Riesling.
