Burgundy 2012 at Flatiron (Flatiron, SF): Pale straw in the glass. Nose of slight earth and cheese rind, and laced with sweet notes of oak. Quite attractive, aromatically. More overt oak than the Les Clos chablis (as one would expect). In the mouth, medium minus body, moderate alcohol, high acid. Lean. 8.5-9

The nose was a contrast of rich stone fruit and incredibly fresh minerality, showing apricot, spring florals, lime zest, and wet stone. It saturated the palate with mineral intensity and rich stone fruit, which was perfectly balanced by brisk acidity, displaying mid-weight textures. Flavors of ripe apple, hints of spice and citrus lasted long into the finish.

Mineral, slightly tart, good mouth feel, with hint of lemon and flowers. Refreshing and good balance for a vegetable and fish meal. Drink this year.

Wildman New Release Burgundy Tasting (Peninsula Hotel - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Apple and pear, moderate ripeness and intensity. Another good 2012, but frankly I preferred the wonderful Bourgogne "Setilles."
