Blackberry fruit with spice , chocolate and good depth. Well stractured. Ruby colour. Decant for a bit over an hour and well suited for rich stews - goose breast simmered.

Very dark ruby color. Expressive nose with pronounced cinnamon, pepper, dark chocolate, toast, red berry and currant fruit, alongside noticeable oak of high quality. Medium to full-bodied with sweet and juicy tannins, remarkable purity of fruit (despite that fact that the oak is not fully integrated yet) and balancing acidity. More forward and readily enjoyable compared to previous vintages. An excellent effort with 3 lesser known autochthonous Greek varieties (Limnio, Mavroudi and Mavritragano), although the ultra-modern style of the wine somewhat masks (at least for the time-being) their real character.

Ready to drink with soft and pleasing mouthfeel but nose was marred by excessive lactic notes.

Mavrotragano Wine Tasting (Le Petit Sommelier Restaurant, Athens, Greece): Dark ruby. Intensively lactic nose of chocolate-flavored milk, sweet plums and sweet spices alongside some herbal nuances. Medium+ body, soft tannins, medium acidity and a medium aftertaste.
