Offers gorgeous aromas and flavors of black cherry and currant with freshly ground coffee, toast and hints of spring florals. This demonstrates wonderful depth and concentration, supported by muscular tannins and beautiful underlying acidity keeping things fresh and mouthwatering all the way through the long persistent finish. This wine will continue to evolve for potentially two decades.

Petrolo & Poggio Scalette dinner, with Luca Sanjust and Jurij Fiore (Zafferano, London): Very young and this Bordeaux blend needs a good 3-5 yrs to get to drinking age. Lots of red fruit at this stage. Alive tannins still need time. Light on the wood which actually helps. At the moment 88 but could well be much better in the future
